Bangladeshi killed at Satkhira frontier

The Indian Border Security Force allegedly tortured and killed a Bangladeshi cattle trader near Kaijuri BSF Camp of Uttar Chabbish Pargana district in India in the early hours on Sunday.
The victim, Ahad Ali, 50, was a resident of Saigharia in Sadar upazila, local people said.
Rafiqul Islam, the chairman of Jhadanga Union Parishad said that a BSF patrol team held Ahad and tortured him for trespassing into the Indian territory near Kaijuri BSF camp at about 4:30am, leaving him critically injured along the zero line.
Later, the associates of Ahad recovered the body and handed it to the slain’s family, the UP chairman said.  A ten-member of cattle traders had gone to India on Saturday evening and were returning home on early Sunday, he added.
Major ATM Ahsan Habib, the operation officer of Satkhira-38 Border Guard Bangladesh, told New Age that they would send a strong protest note to their Indian counterpart over the incident, if it were a homicide.
