JL activist found dead in Ishwardi

A Juba League activist was found drowned in a pond at village Piarakhali of Ishwardi upzila in Pabna.
The victim Md Likhon Malitha, 28, son of Jakir Hossain Malitha of village Dublachora under Muladuli union of Ishwardi upzila, was an activist of Juba League, said police and the family sources.
Officer-in-charge of Ishwardi police station Biman Kumar said police recovered the body from the pond near the mosque at around 12.30pm on Saturday.
The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
Quoting the victim’s father, the OC said Likhon was a drug addict.
He might have fallen into the pond out of his excessive drug intake, said the OC, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
Meanwhile, local people said Likhon was a drug peddler too.
He was being chased by his rivals and jumped into the pond Friday night, they said.
