Police detains RCC councilor

The police detained Monsur Ali, councilor of ward 1 of Rajshahi City Corporation, from Naboganga area under Rajpara police station in the city Thursday night.
Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Detective Branch of RMP, said a DB team arrested him in connection with a case of attacking and vandalising a businessman’s chamber at Guripara area.
He added that some local miscreants attacked Rajab Ali’s chamber and damaged it on Tuesday.
Subsequently, a case was recorded with the police station implicating Monsur Ali.
As sequel to the attack, the miscreants group had again launched an armed-attack on Shahen Alam alias Shahen Shah, younger brother of Rajab Ali, at the same area on the following day.
Later on, Shahen Shah succumbed to his injuries at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, OC Alamgir added.
