Motor vehicle strike withdrawn at Rangpur

The motor vehicle strike called by the Rangpur Motor Workers Union on June 30 is withdrawn following an assurance by the prime minister’s office that an alleged police attack on transport workers would be investigated, a senior police official said.
Rangpur Motor Workers union secretary MA Mazid declared the withdrawal of the strike Monday afternoon in a press conference held at its office at the bus terminal of the city.
Long route buses from Rangpur and inter district bus services in other district of the division were suspended since morning as a sequel to a clash last night where police allegedly charged batons on two motor workers.
