Worker in fear of losing sight in bomb blast

A worker was in fear of losing his sight as crude bomb damaged his eye severely on Monday afternoon in the city’s Nawabpur area.
The victim, Shariful Islam, 20, a worker at a shoe factory, is now undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Ophthalmology in Sher-e-Banglanagar area.
Shariful said that he was going to work when two crude bombs exploded suddenly near Maranchand Sweets. The splinters hit his left side and eye.
He was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors gave him primary treatment and referred to National Institute of Ophthalmology.
On duty doctor said that Sharif’s left eye was seriously damaged and he was in fear of losing sight.
