BCL activist killed in clash with Juba League

A Bangladesh Chhatra League activist of Government Azizul Haque College in Bogra was killed in a clash with Juba League men on the college campus on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Hossain Sabuj, 26, a final year student of Bangla department and son of Saiful Islam, of Kahalu upazila in the district.
Witnesses said the supporters of Nurul Islam Nuru, a ward Juba League general secretary, and supporters of BCL president of the college unit Benzir Ahmed were locked into a clash following payment of rickshaw fare.
Benzir alleged that a supporter of Nuru stabbed Sabuj to death in front of the college’s old building area with sharp weapon while they were trying to mutual the incident.
Protesting the incident the BCL men blocked Satmatha road at Zero point of the city for two and a half hours, leaving traffic movement halt.
The agitated BCL activists also vandalised some vehicles protesting at the incident.
Officer-in-charge of Bogra sadar police station Emdad Hossain said on information police went to the spot and dispersed the agitated students.
The body was sent to hospital for post mortem examination. No case was filed and none was arrested yet, the OC said.
