Train communications along Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chittagong routes resumed on Thursday after 5 hours of disruption following derailment of a freight train at Shahjibazar in Habiganj.
Shahjibazar station master Moazzul Haque told New Age that two wagons of a Sylhet-bound freight train originating from Chittagong derailed around 6:00am at Radhapur near Shahjibazar rail station, halting all train communications.
Later, a salvage train from Akhaura rail station arrived and righted the wagons. And then, around 11:00am the rail tracks were cleared, restoring train communications, Haque said.
