The players’ draft programme for recruitment of local and overseas players for the Bangladesh Premier League’s fourth edition will be held at a local hotel today.
A total of 116 local players will be up for grab while 168 foreign players will also be available in the lottery-based players recruitment programme.
Country’s top seven players have already signed for seven franchises after they were allowed to choose their own teams by the BPL governing council.
The five teams of the previous edition were allowed to retain two players from their squad while the new two teams will have the chance to call two players ahead of others.
Dhaka retained Mosaddek Hossain and Nasir Hossain while Chittagong kept Taskin Ahmed and Anamul Haque.
Rangpur kept Arafat Sunny and Mohammad Mithun as Comilla kept faith on Imrul Kayes and Liton Kumar Das.
Barisal will retain the service of pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain and Taijul Islam.
Meanwhile, newly included Khulna Titans
skipper Mahmudullah said on Thursday that they are eyeing to play exciting cricket in the forthcoming edition.
Khulna, owned by Gemcon Group, had their logo launching ceremony at a city hotel on Thursday.
‘We will play positive cricket, exciting cricket and give our best shot in every matches that we play,’ said Mahmudullah.
Former Bangladesh coach Stuart Law of Australia has been named as the head coach of the team while national selector Habibul Bashar will act as the team’s technical advisor and former national opener Nafees Iqbal will be their team manager.
