Film Censor Board gets new committee
Bangladesh Film Censor Board announced a new committee last week to give censor certificates in the next one year.
The 15-member committee includes four new members who replaced four members of the previous committee.
They are actresses Sharmili Ahmed and Rokeya Rafiq Baby, journalist Shaban Mahmud and poet Zahidul Haque.
Like the previous year, information secretary Golam Murtaza and censor board vice-chairman Zakir Hossain will serve as ex-officio chairman and vice-chairman of the new committee.
Other members of the team are: singer Abdul Jabbar, Bangladesh Film Producers and Distributors Association president Nasiruddin Dilu, Bangladesh Film Directors Association secretary general Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, film exhibitor Iftekharuddin Nawshad, law ministry secretary Abu Saleh Muhammad Zahirul Haque, and prime minister’s press secretary Ihsanul Karim.
Also on board are information ministry additional secretary Harunur Rashid, home ministry additional secretary Abu Hena M Abdul Munim, and Bangladesh Film Development Corporation managing director Tapan Kumar Ghosh.

Shilpa pens down her second book
Bollywood actor and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty, who debuted as an author with her book The Great Indian Diet, is coming up with the second volume.
‘In the coming days, I will be announcing a big news in the health sector. I am very excited about that. I am writing my second book. The first book The Great Indian Diet is already a bestseller, so on the back of that I am doing the second book now,’ she said on Wednesday at an event to promote the #SmallStepsToHealthyHeart initiative by Saffola life. — Hindustan Times
