Body of Hannan Shah brought to Dhaka

The mortal remains of Bangladesh Nationalist Party standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah were brought to Dhaka from Singapore on Wednesday.
The body of Hannan Shah carried in a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6:10pm.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Mirza Abbas and vice-chairman Abdullah Al Noman, among others, received the mortal remains at the airport, according to BNP chairperson’s press wing member, Sayrul Kabir Khan.
The body was taken to Hannan’s residence at Mohakhali DOHS in the capital.
A number of BNP leaders and activists thronged the residence of Hannan Shah, a retired army brigadier general, to pay their last tributes to their leader and console grieving family members.
BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia visited the residence of Hannan Shah on Wednesday night and consoled the family members.
Hannan Shah, a former lawmaker and also a former minister, died at Raffles Heart Center in Singapore early Tuesday.
The first Namaj-e-janaza for Hannan Shah would be held at Mohakhali new DOHS mosque at 10:00am to be followed by another one at the south plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 11:30am and the third one in front of BNP central office after Johr prayers today.
Tomorrow (Friday), funeral prayers would take place at Rajbari ground in Gazipur at 9:00am, Pilot High School ground at Kapasia at 10:30am and at Ghagutia Chalabazar High School ground after Juma prayers before the burial at his family graveyard at Ghagutia.
