BRAC manager found dead in Uganda

A Bangladeshi national, who was posted to BRAC micro-finance office in Uganda, was found dead at village Te-obia of Lira municipality on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Ahmed Mainuddin, 45, in-charge of Small Enterprise Programme of BRAC, an international non-government development organisation based in Bangladesh, North Kyoga police spokesperson David Ongom Odong told Uganda Radio Network that the stabbed body of Maimuddin was found at his residence behind the BRAC office.
The body was sent to Lira Referral Hospital for post-mortem examinations, he said, adding that another person, James Aworu, was also found critically injured at the spot, he added.
Shararat Islam, communications manager of BRAC, told New Age that Bangladesh consular office communicated with the Uganda government and they would take all necessary steps in this regard.
The victim’s brother-in-law Shah Alam Manik said that Mainuddin is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
