64 vehicles detained, 701 cases filed in Ctg

Chittagong Metropolitan Police and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority in the last 24 hours filed 701 cases against different types of vehicles including CNG-run auto-rickshaws for violating the metropolitan rules in the port city.
Besides, police also seized 64 vehicles, including 11 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, during the drives, police said.
A total of 215 cases were filed on Wednesday against the CNG-run auto-rickshaw for running on the streets without documents.
Mohammad Shahid Ullah, deputy director of BRTA said that the move will continue against the meter and document-less taxies as well as the vehicles without registration.
‘The combined teams of BRTA and police are on the road to take action against taxies which are run in the port city without registration,’ he added.
