Japanese films to be screened on NTV today

The Bangla dubbed Japanese classic film Tora-san’s Sunrise and Sunset will be screened on NTV at 8:45am today.
NTV in collaboration with the Japan Foundation will air three selected films of Tora-san in Bangladesh to introduce various aspects of Japan as well as familiarise Bangladeshi viewers with the Japanese culture and faces, said a press release.
The film Tora-san’s Sunrise and Sunset is series of 48 episodes those were made from 1969 to 1997.
The Tora-sun films are humanistic, yet humorous and they bring laughter and tears featuring unsuccessful love stories and family drama of a peddler.
The films shows life of the lead character Tora-san, which is enacted by popular actor Kiyoshi Atsumi, who often goes on trips and suddenly pops over to his home in downtown Tokyo.
NTV will also screen two other episodes of the series— Tora-san’s Many-splintered Love and Tora-san Goes North– later this year.
