3-day theatre festival ends in Sylhet

Theatre troupe Natyamancha Sylhet staged Sukher Khuje Suklal at Kabi Kazi Nazrul Auditorium in the city on Thursday, which marked the end of a three-day festival organised by Sammilita Natya Parishad Sylhet marking its 32nd founding anniversary.
The play has been written by Bidyut Kar and directed by Rajat Kanti Gupta.
It shows the life of the workers in the tea plantations, their sorrows and sufferings as well as their historic role in the 1971 war of independence. The heroic activities of the founding president of the country, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, were also portrayed in the play.
Among others, Bappi Mazumder, Sonia Ghosh Soma, Bidhan Singha, Rajt Gupta, Mahmud Hasan, Saleh Ahmad, Yamin Osman, Maruf Rana, Nahid Rashid, Jannatul Naznin Asha, Biplav Chakrabarti, Janntul Nazmin Usha, and Akhi Dev performed in the production.
Following the show, Sylhet’s acting deputy commissioner Shahidul Islam Chowdhury handed over festival souvenirs to the members of Natyamancha Sylhet.
The concluding session was chaired by Sammilita Natya Parishad Sylhet president Mishfaq Ahmed Mishu. Among others, SNPS director Champak Sarker and member Indrani Sen Shampa talked at the session.
