Popular band Chirkutt will perform live at a music show on Asian TV tonight.
The show, titled ‘Asian Music,’ will be aired at 11:30pm as part of the channel’s seven-day Eid special schedule.
The band will present some of its hit songs including Jadur Shohor, Antoraale, Bondhu Go, Nei Nei, Jochhnar Gaan, and Katakuti at the two-hour show.
About their performance, Chirkutt vocalist Sumi said because of various reasons the band could not appear in as many TV and radio shows as they usually do during Eid time.
Earlier, the band had appeared on the music show Wind of Change (season 2) aired on the first day of Eid on Gaan Bangla, and also performed live on Radio Furti 88.0 on Wednesday.
Sumi said members of the band are currently working on their fourth album.
‘This is too early to disclose any details but we are currently working on our next album which can hopefully be released early next year,’ she said.
Chirkutt was formed in 2002 and has over the years gained popularity with its energetic performance and powerful lyrics.
The band’s current line-up consists of Pavel Areen on drums; Emon Chowdhury on guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele; Sharmin Sultana Sumi on vocals, lyrics and tune; Pintu Ghosh on vocals, violin and flute; Didar on bass; and Tamal on rhythm guitar.
