Promising artistes recite poems

Promising recitation artistes on Thursday entertained the audience with their performance at the Sangskriti Bikash Kendra, Dhaka.
Recitation troupe Trilok organised the event titled Sarod Saaje Kabya Prem-e, the first instalment of a planned monthly programme to be held over the course of the next one year.
A group of 15 artistes from Trilok as well as 10 guest artistes presented 25 poems of different poets at the event.
Young artiste Probal Kumar Das began the show with a rendition of Iqbal Rashedin’s Sohomoron while Mahmudul Hasan Arif presented Ahmed Chhohul’s Chhuye Felo Golap and Hira Chakma presented Sabrina Siraji Titir’s Ekbar.
Among others, Mahbub Islam, Atia Banu Bilkis, Masud Parvez, and Khaled Mahmud Sujan also performed, presenting the poems of HR Sumon, Mahbub Alam, Armanuzzaman and others.
Among the guest performers were Nazmul Ahsan, Tamanna Sarwar Nipa, and Rahid Kamal.
Of them, Nazmul Ahsan recited Birendra Chattopadhyay’s Knockout and Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah’s Ami Se Oviman in his powerful voice.
Earlier, a discussion session was held in which Trilok president Masum Azizul Bashar and eminent recitation artistes Rafiqul Islam and Maskure Sattar Kallol delivered speeches.
