BNP announces more names of new central committee

Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Monday announced names of an organising secretary together with 20 assistant organising secretaries to the party’s new national executive committee after nearly a month of holding its national council on March 19.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a news briefing at the party’s central office announced the names after chairperson Khaleda Zia appointed them to those posts.
Rizvi said Anwarul Azim has been made new organising secretary for Comilla division.
BNP in its last council amended its constitution and created posts for organising secretary along with two assistant organising secretaries for each of the divisions.
All, except two, are new faces who have been inducted into the posts of assistant organising secretaries.
The assistant organising secretaries are: Abdus Salam Azad (retains the same post) and Shahidul Islam Babul for Dhaka division, Mahabuber Rahman Shamim and Abul Hashem Bakkor for Chittagong division, Abdul Momin Talukdar (retains the same post) and Shahin Shawkat for Rajshahi division, Aninda Islam Amit and Joyanta Kumar Kundu for Khulna division,  Akond Quddus and Mahbubul Huq Nannu for Barisal division, Dildar Hossain Selim and Kalimuddin Milon for Sylhet division, Shamsuzzaman and Syed Jahangir Alam for Rangpur division, Mushtaq Mia  and Abdul Awal Khan for Comilla division, Shariful Alam and Wares Ali Mamun for Mymensingh division and Ali Newaj Mahmud Khoiyam and Selimuzzaman Selim for Faridpur division.
On April 9, names of seven joint secretary generals and nine organising secretaries were announced in the second phase of announcement of the new executive committee.
On March 30, names of new secretary general, senior joint secretary general and treasurer were announced in the first phase of announcement of the national executive committee after the national council.
Khaleda Zia and her elder son Tarique Rahman were reelected uncontested as chairperson and senior vice-chairman of BNP respectively, ahead of the national council.
A total of 42 posts, so far, including chairperson and senior vice-chairman have been announced for the new national executive committee.
