Followers of Bhagyakul union unit Awami League leader Monir Hossain Mitul blocked Dhaka-Dohar road for an hour on Monday after the party did not nominate Mitul as chairman candidate in the union council polls.
Local leaders said they had sent the name of Monir Hossain Mitul, general secretary of Bhagyakul Union Awami League, to the central committee as chairman candidate after local scrutiny, but Kazi Shahadat Hossain came out with nomination paper with the help of some central leader.’
Shamsuzzaman Babu, assistant superintendent of police (Louhajang circle) confirmed about the blockade. They later freed the road and formed human-chain there, he added.
