EC ignores BNP’s allegations dubbing them ‘unspecific’

The Election Commission on Sunday said the allegations brought by Bangladesh Nationalist Party over submission of nomination papers in upcoming union council polls were unspecific thus it has no scope to conduct inquiry into them.
The commission secretary Sirazul Islam told reporters that if anyone comes with specific complaints, the commission would surely look into them and it was not possible for it to probe unspecified allegations.
A delegation of the BNP led by its joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi went to the commission and submitted its complaint over barring its candidates in submitting nomination papers by ‘ruling party-backed goons’.
