A troupe stages a street theatre production at Rabindra Sarani Mancha in Uttara.

A two-day street theatre festival was held at the Rabindra Sarani Mancha in Uttara area featuring seven productions by seven troupes.
Gitanjali Lalitakala Academy organised the programme to mark the International Mother Language Day, which will be observed on February 21.
The festival was inaugurated by cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor on Friday, and featured plays by Gitanjali, Prachyanaut, Theatre (Arambag), Natyapuran, Theatre Angan, Nagorik Natyangan Ensemble and Nattyaran Theatre.
‘It was for the first time that a street theatre festival marking Ekushey February was held in Uttara. We hope to organise more such programmes in the future also,’ said Mahbub Amin Mithu, director of Gitanjali.
