Two killed in city road accidents

At least two people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital’s Jatrabari and Gulshan on Friday.
A sexagenarian man was killed and two others were injured as a private car rammed into a garage of CNG-auto-rickshaws in the capital’s Jatrabari on Friday.
The angry locals torched the private car after the accident.
The deceased was identified as Tofazzal Hossain Malu, 60, the owner of the garage and a resident of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj.
The officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police, Anisur Rahman, said that a speeding car rammed into the garage after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving three injured around 3:30pm.
Injured Tofazzal was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 4:15pm.
Fire Service control room in-charge Brozen Kumar said two firefighting units doused the flame around 5:00pm.
In another mishap, a man was killed as a bus hit him at Gulshan early on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Arif Hossain, a mason and resident of Badda.
Monir Hossain, a passerby who rescued Arif and admitted him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital said that Arif was hit by a bus of route no. 6 at Gulshan-1 roundabout around 9:00pm on Thursday, leaving him critically injured.
He died around 1:00am on Friday, DMCH sources said.
