Bishwa Urs Sharif begins in Faridpur today

The four-day Bishwa Urs Sharif is going to begin at Bishwa Zaker Manzil of Atroshi under Sadarpur in Faridpur on Saturday with a call to realise the true spirit of Islam for peace and progress in the present turbulent world.
People, including women, have started streaming into the venue since Wednesday to attend the holy event, said a press release issued by Bishwa Zaker Manzil press secretary Shamim Haider.
The release said that the devotees will also have the fortune to attend the holy Urs of the great spiritual master of the subcontinent, Khwaja-e Khajegan Hazrat Enayetpuri (QSA) and his spiritual master Khwaja-e Khajegan Hazrat Wajed Ali (RA).
The four-day programme will include Zikr, Milad Mahfil, recitation from the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
All preparations are complete to hold the grand congregation in a solemn atmosphere. At the same time, adequate safety and security measures were taken, the release added.
The whole complex, covering around 25 square kilometres, has been decorated and numerous makeshift tents have been erected and most of the residents in nearby areas have vacated their premises to accommodate the devotees.
A helipad is also ready about half-a-kilometre from the Darbar Sharif to facilitate the VIPs.
The programme will conclude on February 17 with Ziarat of the Rowja Sharif of Bishwa Oli Khwaja Baba Faridpuri (QSA) and Akheri Munajat.
