Drone-like object recovered in city

Police recovered a drone-like object from near the old airport at Agargaon in the capital on Thursday.
The four-winged flying object fell down on the premises of IDB building, on the west of the old airport.
The officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police, Gopal Ganesh Bisash, said that the object landed abruptly around 11:45am on the IDB premises. On information, police went to the spot and recovered the drone and took it to the police station.
Later, bomb disposal unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch took it to the DB office for inspecting into the object.
The bomb disposal unit additional deputy commissioner Sanwar Hossain said that there was no camera or any other dangerous elements installed in the drone like object.
Bangladesh’s civil aviation authority has banned any unmanned aerial vehicles in the country’s airspace, without prior permission, for national security as well as general safety of the public.
