5 killed in accidents in Dhaka, Nilphamari, Sylhet

At least five people, including two minors, were killed in accidents in Dhaka, Nilphamari and Sylhet on Saturday.
A minor boy died being hit by a car at Hatirjheel of Rampur in the capital on Saturday evening.
The victim was identified as Raihan, 7, son of Liton Mia of Ulun Bazaar area.
Abu Bakar, who took Raihan to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said a car ran over Raihan near My TV office while he was crossing road, leaving him critically injured.
Later, DMCH doctors declared him dead, Bakar said.
However, Rampura police said they were not informed about the incident.
In another incident, an unidentified elderly woman, aged around 60, was crushed under the wheels of a truck at Madartek crossing in Dhaka in the morning.
Witnesses said the woman was hit by a truck at about 5:30am.
She was taken to DMCH in a critical condition where doctors pronounced her dead.
Sabujbagh police officer-in-charge Quddus Fakir said the truck was held.
New Age correspondent in Nilphamari reported that two people were killed and another one was injured as a bus hit a pick-up van on Dimla-Domar road at Kaliganj of Jaldhaka upazila in the morning.
Jaldhaka police officer-in-charge Obaidul Quader said the bus hit the pick-up van at about 7:30am, leaving bus passengers Jakir, 48, and Abul Kalam, 32, dead on the spot, and Saddam, 18, injured.
The injured was taken to Jaldhaka Upazila Health Complex.
New Age Sylhet correspondent reported that a minor girl died being hit by a bus on Sylhet-Sunamganj Highway at village Gopal of sadar upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Jharna Akter, 6, daughter of Nur Ali of the village; she was a Class-I student of Gopal Government Primary School.
Jalalabad police officer-in-charge Akhter Hossain, quoting witnesses, said Jharna was hit by the bus on her way to school and died on the spot.
Local people vendalised the bus after the accident, the OC said, adding that the bus driver and his helper managed to escape.
