Green City Park inaugurated in Barisal

Barisal City Corporation constructed a park for physical and psychological developments of the city children.
The Barisal city mayor, Ahsan Habib Kamal, on Friday evening inaugurated the park, named ‘Green City Park,’ on Raja Bahadur Road, adjacent to Bangabandhu Udyan.
The park was constructed on an acre of land at the cost of Tk.1.42 crore with modern decorative lightings and other facilities.
The park has 14 free rides, a play ground, 12 benches, 10 flower bushes, a waiting lounge, a wash room, 2 dining rooms and a sitting arrangement for about 400 guardians.
All rides would be free for the children aged 2 to 8 years and that entries are free to all.
The park is a no-smoking facility.
It will be under authorities’ surveillance so that none can use it for drug peddling or any other socially unacceptable activities. Imtiaz Mahmud Jewel, acting chief executive officer of the BCC presided over the inaugural ceremony of the park.
Among others, deputy commissioner, Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, panel mayor K M Shahidullah, councillors Habibur Rahman Tipu, Mosharraf Ali Khan Badsha, Taslima Kalam Poly, Mir Zahid, Mithu Aktar, chief engineer, Nurul Islam, superintending engineer, M A Motaleb, and chief health officer of BCC, Matiur Rahman were also present in the inaugural ceremony.
