Large numbers of film-lovers in Rajshahi attended the film screenings of the 9th International Children’s Film Festival that concludes today.
A total of 150 films from 30 countries have been featured in the nationwide event, organised by Children’s Film Society, which included 15 screening venues in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Sylhet.
CFS took the initiative to provide the children with a basic idea of films and filmmaking and generate awareness of pertinent social issues through the visual medium.
Rajshahi Shilpakala Academy is the venue for the shows in Rajshahi, with four screenings taking place at 11am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm every day since January 23 – when the festival began.
Mahfuz Ahmed, president of Rajshahi Children’s Film Society, told New Age that attendance was ‘satisfactory’ as people came in large numbers to watch the films.
