Shipping minister Shajahan Khan said on Monday 195 officers of Pakistani occupation forces must have to face trial for committing war crimes during the Liberation War.
‘The Pakistani army officials must have to face real trail not the mock one for committing war crimes in 1971,’ he said while addressing a discussion as the chief guest at the conference lounge of Jatiya Press Club in the city.
Muktijodhha Foundation organised the discussion marking 45th anniversary of the Victory Day and Home Coming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The minister called upon all the democratic and pro-liberation forces to forge a greater unity and remain alert until cleansing of the anti-liberation elements such as Al Badr and Razakars aimed at materialising the 1971 spirit.
‘Legal actions will be taken for speaking against the Liberation War,’ he added.
Principal Gazi Md Delwar Hossain, president of the foundation, presided over the discussion. Among others, general secretary of the foundation, HN Samajdar Hiru, and joint general secretary Nazrul Islam Babu, spoke on the occasion.
