6 alleged kidnappers held, teen rescued

Members of Rapid Action Battalion on Monday rescued a student of a private polytechnic institute from a house at Somsadipur under Katakhali municipal area of Rajshahi.
The student was allegedly abducted on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Anisur Rahman, 16, an 11th grade student of Rajshahi Shah Makhdum Polytechnic Institute and hailing from Purulia of Gurudaspur upazila of Natore.
RAB also arrested six members of the alleged gang at the spot, a press release of the elite force claimed.
RAB squadron leader Mobassher Hossain, who led the drive, told New Age that the kidnappers abducted Anisur on his way back home after an examination on Sunday.
The miscreants had confined Anisur to a house at Katakhali and demanded Tk 1, 80,000 in ransom from his family. Later, responding to a tip, RAB officials raided the house and freed the man.
The alleged abductors arrested by RAB are: Latifa Begum, 44, her daughter Lima Khatun, 22, their accomplices Faysal Hossain, 22, Mona, 24, Badsha, 26, Sohag, 24, and Liton, 23, respectively.
