The fresh deadline to fix RR number plates and RFID tags on all motor vehicles by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority has been rescheduled till March 31, 2016, according to the circular.
The decision of deadline extension came following a recent BRTA proposal.
The deadline to fix RR number plates on all motor vehicles was scheduled to be end today.

On October 10, a circular was issued which read – vehicles which take registration from the BRTA will not be able to run anywhere in the country without RR number plate and RFID tags after December 31, 2015.
According to the BRTA, at present the number of total registered vehicles under the authorities crossed 24 lakh.
Till December 20, 7.29 lakh RR number plates were fixed to motor vehicles while the Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory Limited has produced 10.56 lakh such number plates, said officials.
After being inaugurated by prime minister Sheikh Hasina on October 31, 2012, BMTF started to produce and replace the RR number plates on vehicles on November 7 the same year.
Retro-reflectivity materials have the ability to send most of light back to its source.
