010An educational web portal was launched to offer students the opportunity to study, read and write to complete their academic courses online.
My Academy launched the website myacademybd.com on April 4 at an inaugural ceremony in the capital, marking the initiative where students could find education to be more fun, said a press release.
The portal will use the slogan ‘Education should be enjoyable for all, every time and everywhere’. Nazrul Islam khan, secretary of education ministry inaugurated the portal.
Speaking as chief guest, Khan said the initiative would help students, teachers and the community as a whole in inclusive education.
‘We do not have enough Bangla content online, My Academy’s initiative could contribute in changing that,’ he added.
My Academy chief executive officer Abul Taher Khundkar Mohammad Iqbal informed New Age Youth that any student can start their academic learning after the registration.
Iqbal described the web portal in details at the ceremony. He also demonstrated how technology can help students and teachers in bettering educational standards.
My Academy site also has textbooks, video documentaries, interactive grammar exercises and model tests. Students can also share and discuss their notes and study problems on the website.
Iqbal said, ‘right now the website has all contents for classes five and ten and within next six month we will add text books and tutorials from standard one to higher secondary level.’
Iqbal also asserts that if a student uses the website and completes the courses carefully, he or she will not need any coaching or home tuitions.
‘We are working to upgrade our content for the university admission level, career preparation and international tests like TOFEL, GED, GMAT and GRE,’ he informs to New Age Youth.
He urged cordial support from all to spread digital education for all around the globe especially because Bangla study materials are hardly found online.
Saying the website is ‘a complete technical approach to offer inclusive education’ he said that the web portal offers a virtual ‘study table’ for every individual to study.
He also said that the audio-video clips on the site on different issues make it more interesting and it provides opportunity for teachers and guardians to get updates about the individual’s study and others.
The portal also features a ‘campus tab’ where students can enjoy writing creative content.
Shamsuzzaman Khan, director general of Bangla Academy, Syed Ferhat Anwar, professor at the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, Mohammad Zia Manzur, country manager of Intel Bangladesh were present among others at the ceremony.
