JU students shine in London

011Beating more than 30,000 students from around the world, three students of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at Jahangirnagar University (JU), also the only representative team from Bangladesh won the first runner up prize at Future Leader’s League 2015, a worldwide competition of Unilever Bangladesh Limited which took place on March 19 in London.
A three-member team from SP Jain Institute of Management from India secured the first place while a team from Norway sealed the second runner up spot.
The three-member team from Bangladesh consisted of Nusrat Khondaker, Akib Mashrur and Aftarul Islam Utsab, students of 40th batch of the university. They beat teams from Canada, Sri Lanka, Germany, Russia, Philippines, Singapore, and 23 other countries impressing the judges and announcing their arrival on the global stage as future business leaders.

Bangladesh team spent more than a month to prepare for the competition. They had to develop a global level brand campaign for one of the most complex target groups – teenagers.
Last October, in the competition of inter-university of Bangladesh, the team from Jahangirnagar University beat 10 teams in Bizmaestros 2014 to win the opportunity to represent Bangladesh in London.
Akib Mashrur and Aftarul Islam Utsab members of the team want to be entrepreneurs in the future.
Nusrat Khandaker on the other hand is open to the idea of working outside Bangladesh for a multinational company.
