Youth sent to jail for assaulting BRTA official

A mobile court in Sylhet sentenced a man to 3-month rigorous imprisonment on Thursday for assaulting an inspector of Bangladesh Road Transport Authorities. The convicted was Jasim Uddin, 30, a BRTA agent. Sylhet BRTA deputy director Md Shahid Ullah said Jasim assaulted inspector Tanvir Hossain and vandalised his office as the inspector denied his proposal of authorising an illegal job.
