‘Criminal’ hacked dead in Cox’s Bazar

Unidentified miscreants hacked to death a wanted criminal at Islampur in the suburb of Cox’s Bazar town on Tuesday evening, United News of Bangladesh reports.
The deceased was identified as Jakir Mostafa, 32, the ringleader of ‘Jakir Bahini’ and son of Abul Bashar of Ghonarpara area of the town.
Officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar sadar police station, Kazi Matiul Islam, said a group of miscreants swooped on Jakir around 6:00pm.
They chopped him indiscriminately leaving him dead on the spot, he said.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Cox’s Bazar General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Jakir was wanted in several cases, including of murder, the OC added.
