40 Malaysia-bound job seekers held in Bay

The Bangladesh Coast Guard detained 40 Malaysia bound Bangladeshi fortune seekers in the Bay of Bengal near St. Martin’s Island, this morning.
Coast Guard officials said those people were preparing to sail for Malaysia illegally. Coast Guard also arrested five crews and seized their wooden boat.
Teknaf Coast Guard station Commander, Lieutenant Dixon Chowdhury told New Age that 35 Bangladeshi citizens were readying for the voyage through the Bay of Bengal by a ship.
They were about to board a mother vessel in the deep sea, south of the St. Martin’s island.
